Terms of service
These terms apply to morningsunskin.com and to everything you buy from us. Morning Sun is operated by Morning Sun Skin LLC, 424 Avenida Mirola, Palos Verdes Estates, California 90274, United States. By using this site or placing an order, you agree to the terms below. Please read the Dispute Resolution and Arbitration section carefully, because it affects how claims between us are resolved and includes a waiver of class actions, with a 30-day opt-out.
Who can order
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to place an order. By ordering you confirm that the payment method you use is your own and that the information you give us is accurate and complete.
Products and pricing
We do our best to show our products accurately, but colors, packaging, and labels may vary slightly from what appears on your screen. Prices are in U.S. dollars and may change at any time without notice. We may correct errors in pricing or product descriptions, and we may cancel an order placed at an incorrect price. If we cancel, you'll be refunded in full.
We may limit quantities per person or per order, and we may refuse or cancel any order at our discretion.
Orders and payment
Your order is an offer to buy. It's accepted when we send you a confirmation or ship your order. Payment is taken at checkout, including on pre-orders.
Pre-orders
When you pre-order, we charge you at checkout and ship when the batch is ready. We'll always tell you the shipping window before you buy, and we only give you a date we genuinely expect to meet.
If we can't ship by that date, we'll email you with a new date and you can cancel for a full refund instead of waiting. If we can't give you a firm new date, or if you don't reply to tell us it's fine to wait, we cancel and refund your order automatically. You can also cancel a pre-order for a full refund at any time before it ships, for any reason or none.
Refunds go back to your original payment method: within one billing cycle if you paid by card, and within seven business days otherwise. We won't swap in a different product without asking you first.

Cosmetic product disclaimer and safe use
Morning Sun body oils are cosmetic products for external use on skin only. They are not drugs, and nothing we publish is medical advice or a claim to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition. Statements on this site have not been evaluated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Before first use, patch test on a small area of skin and wait 24 hours. Keep out of eyes and do not swallow. Keep out of reach of children. Discontinue use if irritation, redness, or discomfort occurs. Some of our ingredients are derived from tree nuts, so do not use our products if you have a nut allergy. If you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or have a known allergy or skin condition, talk to your doctor before use. Every ingredient in every formula is listed on the bottle and on our What's in it page so you can check it against your own needs.
If you experience a reaction or any other adverse event, please tell us at paigelindgren.partnerships@gmail.com so we can help and so we can record it. Seek medical attention for anything serious.
What we mean by our ingredient claims
Terms like "clean" have no legal definition in the United States, so here is exactly what we mean when we use one.
"Formulated without" means the listed ingredient is not added to our formulas. It is not a guarantee that an ingredient is undetectable at trace levels, since trace amounts can occur naturally or through the supply chain.
When we say we formulate without known endocrine disruptors, we mean we exclude ingredients identified as known or suspected endocrine disruptors on the reference lists we hold ourselves to: EU cosmetic regulations, Credo Beauty's Dirty List, and the EWG Skin Deep database. Those lists change, and we update our formulas and this site when they do.
"Naturally derived" and our reference to ISO 16128-2 mean at least 95% of the fragrance molecules in our formulas are of natural origin, as calculated under that standard.
We keep records substantiating these statements and the safety of our products. If you'd like to understand the basis for any claim we make, email us and we'll explain it.
Your account
If you create an account, you're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has used it.
Acceptable use
Don't use this site to break the law, infringe anyone's rights, send spam or malicious code, scrape or copy the site at scale, or interfere with how the site works. We may suspend access for anyone who does.
Our content
The Morning Sun name, logo, product photography, formulas, and site copy belong to Morning Sun Skin LLC and are protected by intellectual property law. You may not reproduce or use them commercially without our written permission.
Reviews and content you send us
If you send us a review, photo, comment, or suggestion, you give us permission to use, display, and share it in connection with our business, with credit where it makes sense. You confirm it's yours to share and that it isn't unlawful or misleading.
We publish reviews honestly. We do not write reviews in customers' voices, buy reviews, or suppress a review because it's negative. If we ever give someone a free product or anything else of value in exchange for a review, that relationship will be disclosed alongside the review. We remove reviews only when they are fake, unlawful, abusive, off-topic, or contain personal information, never because we dislike the rating. If you post a review, please disclose any connection you have to us.
Third-party links and services
Our site runs on Shopify and uses third-party services for payments, shipping, email, and analytics. We may also link to other sites. We aren't responsible for third-party content, products, or practices.
Accessibility
We want this store to work for everyone, including people using screen readers and other assistive technology, and we're working toward the WCAG 2.1 AA standard. If you hit a barrier on any page, email paigelindgren.partnerships@gmail.com. Tell us the page and what happened, and we'll fix it and help you complete your order in the meantime.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
This site and our products are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind except those that cannot be excluded by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Morning Sun Skin LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the product in question. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, personal injury caused by our negligence, or anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Morning Sun Skin LLC and its owners and contractors from claims arising out of your breach of these terms or your misuse of the site or our products.
Dispute resolution and arbitration
Let's talk first. If something goes wrong, email paigelindgren.partnerships@gmail.com and describe the problem. We'll do the same if our issue is with you. Both of us agree to spend 60 days trying to work it out informally before starting any formal proceeding. Most things get solved here.
Arbitration. If we can't resolve it, you and Morning Sun Skin LLC agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms, the site, or our products will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. The arbitrator decides the dispute and can award the same individual relief a court could. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court with jurisdiction. This agreement is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act.
No class actions. You and we each agree to bring claims only in an individual capacity, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims or preside over any form of representative proceeding. If this paragraph is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, then that claim, and only that claim, proceeds in court, and the rest of this section still applies.
You can opt out. Arbitration is not mandatory. If you don't want it, email paigelindgren.partnerships@gmail.com with the subject line "Arbitration Opt-Out" within 30 days of your first purchase or of first agreeing to these terms, whichever is later, and include your name and order number. Opting out costs you nothing, changes nothing else about your relationship with us, and we will not treat you differently for it.
Small claims and injunctions. Either of us may bring a qualifying case in small claims court instead of arbitration. Either of us may also ask a court for an injunction to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property.
Costs and location. We'll pay the arbitration filing, administration, and arbitrator fees for any claim you bring for $10,000 or less, unless the arbitrator finds the claim frivolous. Arbitration may be conducted by documents, telephone, or video, or in person in the county where you live, whichever you prefer.
This section survives the end of your relationship with us.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law rules. For any dispute not subject to arbitration, the state and federal courts in Los Angeles County, California have exclusive jurisdiction, and you consent to that jurisdiction. Nothing in these terms limits consumer protection rights you have under the law of the state where you live, including any right to bring a complaint to a government agency.
Force majeure
We aren't liable for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, including carrier delays, supply chain failures, natural disasters, and government action. If one of those delays your order, your cancellation and refund rights above still apply.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms at any time. The version posted here is the one that applies, and the date below tells you when it last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it. If we make a material change to the arbitration section, you'll get a fresh 30-day window to opt out.
General
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our failure to enforce a term isn't a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them in connection with a sale or reorganization of the business. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Shipping Policy, and Return and Refund Policy, are the entire agreement between us. You agree to receive notices from us electronically, by email or by posting to this site.
